The Sleepers, 2023
Permanent public installation, Menachem Begin 151, Tel Aviv
bronze and stone, 500x180x185 cm
The Sleepers depicts two cats as the guardians of 'Yes' and 'No,' caught in slumber. The work puts forward a question about the fragility of agency, a moment when these pivotal terms stand unattended. In this unguarded state, The Sleepers manifests the blurred boundaries and the delicate nature of our ability to make choices and maintain moral stances. Reflecting on the implications of weakened agency and the complexities that ensue, and highlighting the weight of neglected affirmations or ethical objections.
